The 18th annual Trek4Kidz a great success!
The Bush to Beach Trek took place on the 23rd August leaving Armidale and finished on the 30th August at Woolgoolga. More than 20 cars reved up their engines to commence an epic journey of over 2,500 kilometres travelling on dirt tracks from Armidale to Goondiwindi, Dalby, Hervey Bay (layday) Caboolture, Tenterfield and finish in Woolgoolga, in an effort to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families by raising much needed funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
“To see the impact that Starlight’s work has on children, we know how worthwhile the trek is – that’s what keeps us coming back each year. We never tire of visiting local communities and contributing to this worthwhile cause, the generosity of people is pretty amazing.” Trek Director Michelle McDonald says.
Trek4Kidz is an annual week long event travelling through regional NSW and Qld, whilst helping to promote the efforts of Starlight.
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter says,
“Trek4Kidz is a wonderful community fundraiser supporting Starlight children. Everyone involved are completely committed to making Trek4kidz a success, and over the years their efforts have changed the lives of hundreds of Starlight children and their families. On behalf of everyone at Starlight, I cannot thank Trek4Kidz enough for all they help Starlight to achieve. They are absolute stars.”
